Such devices are much more reliable and durable than Velcro, but they are more expensive and somewhat less convenient: a certain effort is required to unfasten the button, and more precision is required to fasten it. In addition, not all users like the detail that protrudes noticeably from the strap when the umbrella is closed. Thus, buttons are used much less frequently than Velcro, and mainly in models of the middle and top price categories (with rare exceptions).
