— umbrellas (also known as “anti-umbrellas”, “turnovers”, etc.) that fold “reversely” compared to traditional models: when folded, it turns out not the upper, but the lower part of the dome. Figuratively speaking, the opening and closing of such an umbrella resembles the opening and closing of a flower bud.

This design has a number of advantages over the usual format of work. Firstly, when folding, the wet outer part is inside the umbrella, and moisture does not fall on surrounding objects and people; this is especially true, in particular, when entering public transport from a rainy street. Secondly, the product is not afraid of a strong wind that turns the dome "inside out" — with such a wind, the umbrella actually tends to fold in the usual way, and the details of the mechanism remain intact. Thirdly, many anti-umbrellas, when folded, but not fully fastened, are able to stand stably on the floor / ground. Fourthly, it is much easier to fold the umbrella in a situation where the user has already passed through the door, got into the car, etc., and the umbrella canopy is still outside.

One of the key disadvantages of "shifters" is that most of them are canes. There are also folding models of this format, but there are few of them and they are noticeably more complicated in design.
