Photopolymer resin

— the material used in SLA and DLP printers (see "Printing Technology"), as well as in units based on a more specific technology — MJM multi-jet modeling (thermoplastics can also be used for such printing, but they are practically replaced by photopolymers). Anyway, the specificity of photopolymer resins lies in the fact that in the initial state they have a liquid consistency, and harden under the action of bright light. Nowadays, there is a wide variety of such materials, differing in technological characteristics (viscosity, setting speed, sensitivity to light) and practical features (hardened resin can have the properties of different materials). All of them have two common features: on the one hand, photopolymers allow you to achieve very high printing speeds, on the other hand, such materials are much more expensive than thermoplastics.
