The main purpose of this feature is to prevent fogging. When using the shower or bath, the temperature and humidity in the room increase sharply, causing excess moisture to settle on relatively cool surfaces, including the mirror. This is particularly inconvenient considering that many cosmetic procedures are most convenient to perform after bathing in hot water when the skin and hair are softened. The heating system helps to avoid such problems: the mirror's surface heats up to a temperature of about 45 – 50 °C, preventing moisture from settling on it. Drawbacks of this feature include its high cost and the need to connect to a power supply.
