— devices of this type do not have a strictly defined specialization — more precisely, they are able to change specialization at the request of the user. This is done through interchangeable heads mounted on the main unit; each of which corresponds to a certain type of tool — a drill, a renovator, etc. (for more information about interchangeable heads, see the relevant paragraph). Multi-tools are convenient when you have to deal with a wide variety of jobs that a more highly specialized unit is not able to handle. At the same time, such situations occur quite rarely, so this type of tool has not received wide popularity. Note that the configuration of such models may be different — some generally come with one interchangeable head and in the “out of the box” version do not differ from the usual specialized tool, and additional heads must be purchased separately. Nevertheless, even such options apply to multi-tools — the key feature is the split design, and not the presence of several heads in the kit.
