In the second case, the air flow from the indoor unit is directed almost horizontally – in some cases this is the best option: in particular, the cooled air is distributed more evenly than when using a vertical flow, and at the same time, the likelihood of drafts is quite low.

Due to its versatility in installation, this type of air conditioner is now more popular than strictly floor-standing models.
