ShVVP wires
ShVVP wires
— marking for "PVC-sheathed, PVC-insulated stranded cord, flat". “Flat” in this case does not mean the shape of the cores, but the general shape of the cable itself: the cores in it are arranged in a row, which ensures a flat overall cross section. The cores themselves are exclusively round multi-wire, with a very small cross section — 0.5 mm² or 0.75 mm². However, the maximum allowable voltage for such wires is 400 V, although they are mainly used with 230 V.From the point of view of operational properties, such a cable is resistant to high humidity and even aggressive chemical environments, has excellent flexibility, but is not very durable — in particular, it is noticeably inferior to the same PVA. As a result, the main scope of its application is the connection of various electrical appliances to the network. The ball screw screw is especially good for compact devices in which the wire has to be unwound and rewound often — hair dryers, electric shavers, blenders and other hand-held kitchen appliances, etc. At the same time, it can also be used in large powerful devices like refrigerators or washing machines. But for extension cords, such a cable is poorly suited due to the relatively low reliability.
