Floor lamp

— luminaires with installation on the floor, also called floor lamps. For such an installation, an appropriate stand is provided in the design, and the light source itself is placed on a long vertical stand or other similar structure that ensures that this source is placed at the required height.

One of the main advantages of floor lamps is the ease of installation: no additional work is required, just select a free space on the floor and bring the lamp to it. However in cramped conditions with the availability of space for installation, problems may arise; on the other hand, the width (diameter) of the stand rarely exceeds half a metre, and usually not much space is required. Thanks to this ease of installation, the floor lamp can also be easily moved from place to place. Among the disadvantages of such lamps, it is worth mentioning the rather high cost, as well as the fact that they usually do not differ in stability: a floor lamp can be knocked over even with a rather weak push.

It should be noted that floor lamps are often considered “home” lamps, designed mainly for residential premises and designed not only to provide light, but also to create a cozy atmosphere. This is partly however but in this category there are also technical sources of lighting — they resemble table lamps attached to "floor lamp" racks to stands.
