— the TC-W2 standard was valid until 1992, after which it was replaced by TC-W3, which remains relevant to this day. TC-W2 series oils are applicable to 2-stroke outboard water-cooled outboard engines. A key feature of such a lubricant is the admissibility of the presence of ash compounds — the presence of ash contributes to coking of the piston rings, which leads to a decrease in compression in the cylinders. Despite the replacement of the standard, today you can still find outboard motors with TC-W2 lubrication approval. Both such engines themselves and the lubricant for them, usually, are distinguished by a low price.
