Self-adjusting wrenches
self-adjusting wrenches
— sets containing self-locking wrenches only.In accordance with the name, the working part in the keys of this type is equipped with a special mechanism that, when the key is turned, tightly clamps the fasteners covered by the profile. At the same time, the profile is also able to adapt to a specific size of fasteners, and within a fairly wide range. This is one of the advantages of self-locking wrenches over traditional fixed ones: one tool can be used for parts of different sizes. And compared to another adjustable variety - adjustable wrenches (see "Additionally in the set") - tools from this category are easier to adjust: in fact, this does not require any additional actions, just turn the key in the direction of clamping. On the other hand, in some cases, self-tightening devices are somewhat less reliable than fixed and adjustable wrenches.
Note that for a number of reasons, self-tightening wrenches are most often sold not as a set with other tools, but as specialized sets (such sets are included in this paragraph). At the same time, there are few tools themselves in such sets - usually two (except that one of them can be made double-sided): thanks to the mentioned design features, even this is considered quite enough.
