Axes with wooden handle
Wood
— since ancient times, wood has been used in ax handles — and continues to be widely used, and such handles are found in all types of axes. This is due to a number of advantages characteristic of this material. So, the tree is pleasant to the touch, securely held in the hand and perfectly dampens vibrations, preventing the ax from rebounding, and is relatively inexpensive. Such ax handles weigh more than plastic or fibreglass ones, but sometimes this moment is an advantage — for example, in cleavers, which by definition require a lot of weight. It is also worth noting that all wooden ax handles are removable, if desired, such a handle can be replaced with another one. At the same time, the main drawback of this option emerges from such a design: over time, the reliability of fastening decreases, and if you do not take this into account and do not take measures, at one moment the blade may simply fly off. However, the service life of wooden handles usually turns out to be quite long.Show
