Pedal cars with inflatable wheels

 

— full-fledged inflatable wheels with a hollow tyre, which must be filled with pressurized air when driving. They provide a soft ride, do an excellent job of driving over bumps (there are even initially “off-road” options) and are suitable even for universal velomobiles designed to carry a lot of weight. Of the shortcomings, it is worth mentioning a slightly increased complexity in maintenance and repair: tyres need to be inflated, and a puncture or scratch makes the wheel unusable — it will have to be sealed and re-inflated, or even completely changed. However, these shortcomings are significantly outweighed by the described advantages.
