Oil

— a special kind of oil designed specifically for use in the sharpening process. Lubrication is used primarily to keep small chips from clogging the abrasive surface. Note that some “non-native” varieties of oil are also suitable for this purpose, but ideally, you should still use standard grease. And its presence in the kit eliminates the additional hassle of finding and purchasing the right oil.
