The need for such a purchase arises primarily in cases where the tool was not initially equipped with a battery or if the existing battery is out of order. However, the matter is not limited to this, and additional batteries can also be useful in order to extend the battery life and reduce interruptions for charging: while one battery is in use, the rest can be charged.

Also note that many large manufacturers produce universal batteries that are compatible with different types of branded tools — drills, screwdrivers, saws, etc. So if you have several cordless tools of the same brand on your household, you should clarify whether it will work with them use the same batteries.
