— one of the newest versions of Quick Charge was released in 2017.Quick Charge technology was developed by Qualcomm and is mainly used in gadgets with processors of this brand. One of the key innovations introduced in version 4.0 was improved compatibility with some USB-C cables — namely, with accessories that have built-in microcircuits for recognizing cable parameters. The peculiarity of such wires is that an increase in voltage can lead to failure of both the microcircuit and the gadget being charged; QuickCharge versions 2.0 and 3.0 did not take this into account, and QuickCharge 4.0 got rid of this drawback. In addition, this version provides compatibility with Power Delivery (see the relevant paragraph).
In terms of overall work efficiency, the overall charging speed has increased by 20% compared to the previous version; in addition, the manufacturer claims the ability to charge a 50% battery with a capacity of about 3000 mAh in just 15 minutes.
