Gravity clamp

— an automated type of clamp that works by gravity. When installed in such a mount, the smartphone presses on the bottom holder, this holder goes down slightly, activating a special mechanism — and the side lips converge, tightly squeezing the body of the device. Accordingly, when removing the gadget, you need to slightly lift it, due to which the side clamps will disperse.

Gravity holders are quite popular in modern car chargers: on the one hand, they are simple and inexpensive, on the other hand, they are convenient and practical. In particular, the smartphone in such clamps is held both on the sides and below, and the grip width is automatically adjusted (within certain limits). In addition, the mechanism itself remains operational even when the power is turned off (unlike proximity sensors) and does not require special materials (unlike magnetic holders).
