Dessert forks
— small forks designed for various desserts, including pastries. They usually have three or four teeth. In three-pronged forks, the prongs are relatively short, and one of them (the extreme one) can be made wider than the others, for the convenience of separating pieces from the dessert. Four prong forks tend to have long tines.
Note that cake and pastry utensils are sometimes classified as a separate category (see the relevant paragraphs), however, in fact, they are a specific type of dessert fork.
