— AAC is a codec primarily used in Apple’s portable devices to enhance the sound transmitted via Bluetooth. In this context, it is similar to aptX (see the relevant paragraphs), but it is significantly inferior in terms of capabilities. While aptX sound is often compared to Audio CD quality, AAC is considered to be at the level of a medium-quality MP3 file.
