Such a casing is usually installed behind the nozzle, on the user's side; it covers the operator from the grass flying backwards, and also reduces the likelihood of contact with the legs and other parts of the body with the cutting attachment (for example, when the trimmer is strongly tilted “on itself”, with the back up).Casings can be both universal and specialized for certain types of nozzles — knives, discs, wire spools. Sometimes such “specialization” is purely conditional and is limited to the manufacturer’s comment, and protection can be applied with almost any nozzle. However, there is protection with specific design features: for example, products for reels often have a sharpened edge, which, when the nozzle rotates, cuts off excess fishing line protruding beyond the casing.
