Since drifting competitions are held on flat surfaces, cars for them are usually of the road type and often very closely repeat the appearance of their full-size counterparts. The main features of their design are rear (in rare cases, all-wheel drive) with a rear differential lock, as well as smooth or almost smooth tyres with increased rigidity.
