Melamine

— a special grade of plastic that has optimal characteristics for use in all-weather tables (see "Class") — in particular, melamine is extremely resistant to moisture and tolerates temperature changes without problems. In addition, for normal characteristics, such a countertop requires a much smaller thickness than when using a chipboard. On the other hand, the bounce of the ball from melamine is worse, so it is not used on indoor tables.
