— the helmet mount is one of the options used in motorcycle recorders. Compared to another way to mount such devices — on the steering wheel — this option has two main advantages. Firstly, the helmet-mounted camera follows the user's head movements — in some cases this is the optimal shooting format. Secondly, helmets are used not only when riding a motorcycle, but also in many other types of active activities — auto racing, skiing and snowboarding, paragliding, etc. However, note that helmet-mounted DVRs are usually not resistant to dust, moisture , cold, etc., so for extreme conditions, an action camera may be a more reasonable choice.

Also note that the helmet mount is rarely the only complete option — more often it is combined with a suction cup or a sticker for installation on the windscreen of a car.
