This feature provides a number of additional features. First of all, it allows you to increase the amount of memory available for saving videos. Recall that most modern recorders work in the overwrite format: when the drive is full, new video starts to be recorded over the oldest fragments. And the more memory in the device, the more video can be stored in it at the same time without being overwritten.

In addition, the second memory card can be used in the mode of information duplication — as a backup storage that increases the likelihood of "survival" of the recorded video in the event of an accident or other emergency. In some models, this mode is activated in specific cases — when the G-sensor is triggered, at the user's command, etc.; in others, it may be permanently enabled.
