Boilies
Boilies
— specific means used mainly in carp fishing, both as bait and baits. They are balls or cylinders with a diameter of several millimetres. In addition to the purpose (packed and bait), boilies are also divided by consistency (“dusty” and “boiled” — soluble and insoluble, respectively), by buoyancy and, of course, by composition, taste and smell. Dips may be used in combination with such agents to modify taste and smell (see relevant paragraph). Also note that the division by application is rather arbitrary: bait boilies can turn out to be quite successful nozzles, and vice versa.Boilies are in many ways similar to pellets (see the relevant paragraph).
