The pH characterizes how acidic or alkaline the pool water is. The optimal pH level is considered to be in the range of 7.2 – 7.6; at higher values, the water can cause skin irritation and decrease the effectiveness of disinfectants, while at lower values, it begins to intensively damage pool components, especially metal ones. Special products are available to normalize the pH level. They can be designed to either increase or decrease this index, so it’s important to pay attention to the specialization when choosing.
