In general, electric engines are used in most modern HP washers. They have a number of advantages over another option — internal combustion engines (ICE): electric engines are simpler and cheaper both in design and in operation/maintenance, are less heavy and more compact, have a lower noise level and do not create exhaust gases during operation. Specifically, three-phase 400 V power can be found mainly in heavy devices with a power of 3400 W and more — in those models for which connection to a conventional socket is no longer suitable. Among these devices, there are also models for 230 V (with direct connection to the electrical panel); however, three-phase power has a number of advantages over this option. Firstly, 400 V networks are better able to withstand high loads; secondly, they allow more accurate accounting of actually consumed electricity. On the other hand, the very possibility of such a connection is less common than 230 V; therefore, before buying a washer from this category, it will be usefull to clarify the presence of a three-phase power in the intended place of work.
