2D head tripods
2D heads
— heads with two separate hinges — for turning left and right and for tilting up and down. This, in particular, simplifies the shooting of panoramas: the camera can easily be moved along only one axis without turning along the second. At the same time, such mechanisms do not provide frame tilt (rotation around the lens axis); this is not critical when shooting video, but it limits the use of some photography techniques. Therefore, this type of heads is mainly used in models for camcorders (see "Intended use"), although such tripods may be compatible with cameras.Show
