The Giottos GB-3158 Pro Lava Tripod is made from a hard, black volcanic rock whose weight is comprised of less than 52% silica. Because of its low silica content it has low viscosity. The lava materi more→al is melted at very high temperatures and spun and extruded into fibers that are made into lightweight tubes that withstand temperature extremes. This makes for a very rigid and lightweight tripod that is comfortable to use in any environment. Features like individual, adjustable leg spread positions, a reversible center column with hook, bubble level and compass, and rubber leg sleeves all make this tripod a versatile support tool for a Pro SLR camera, in the field or indoors.
