Warm steam

— function used in ultrasonic and water models (see "Humidification"). It provides for heating water before evaporation — thus, the device will produce not cold but heated steam. The purpose of this function is to ensure hygiene: heating destroys most of the harmful microorganisms that may be contained in water and the surrounding air. In addition, "warm steam" raises the temperature in the room, which in some situations may come in handy. The heating temperature is usually 80 – 85 °C — this provides both efficiency and safety (although care must still be taken to avoid burns).
