Looking at the growing popularity of transparent and translucent computer chassis, the American manufacturer Corsair, known to all gamers, has launched a separate series of beautiful and roomy cases with sides and cladding made of strong tempered glass. In this way, the manufacturer tried to attract the attention of gamers and streamers planning to build not just a powerful, but also a beautiful gaming PC. The series includes mainly mid-size models with a well-designed chassis, optional backlighting and support for liquid cooling. Less often, under the Crystal flags, you can find miniature Cube Case boxes and massive Full Tower towers, into which you can stick a giant E-ATX motherboard, a two-kilogram video card of the GeForce RTX 4090 level, after which there will be room in the case for a clamshell.
Regardless of the form factor, the standard equipment of Crystal cases, as a rule, corresponds to the top level and includes several pre-installed coolers with PWM rotation speed control, mounting elements with screwless fastenings and a modern front panel with up-to-date USB ports. The metal is quite thick, the glass is strong and tempered, and the build quality is top notch. In Crystal RGB models, the built-in fans are equipped with RGB backlighting with quite interesting and complex operating modes, and a proprietary controller with support for the iCUE system is used to control the illumination.
As for the model range, Corsair quickly realized that a gamer could not be surprised with just a transparent window, so the company decided to dig deeper and expand the concept. Since 2019, the Crystal series has released several extravagant chassis with a two-chamber design - in particular the Crystal 280X and Crystal 680X, as well as a couple of modifications with built-in lighting. The manufacturer’s idea is to use the auxiliary section as a kind of storage room, in which you can hide the power supply and all unnecessary cables, so that the components will be better ventilated, and the cable noodles hanging everywhere will not be visible through the transparent walls.
