Representatives of this series are distinguished by an elegant exterior design, compact size and modest power consumption, which is important when connected to modern laptops and ultrabooks. Including Macbooks - fortunately, all Canvio drives are formatted accordingly and are correctly detected by MacOS. The connection uses a modern USB 3.2 Gen1 interface with a bandwidth of up to 5 Gbps, thanks to which Canvio drives boast high linear copy and write speeds.

Over the entire existence of the Canvio line, the Japanese manufacturer has released about a dozen varieties of this drive with a capacity from 500 GB to 6 TB. In addition to the usual Canvio, Toshiba introduced a Slim version of the drive in a thin case, upgraded Canvio Advanced with advanced data backup and encryption capabilities, a metal Canvio Flex and several other varieties. All of them are designed for photographers, artists, producers and other creative professionals who regularly interact with Apple technology and need a reliable keeper to carry large amounts of data.

It should be noted that over time, Toshiba slightly expanded the boundaries by releasing several drives of a different kind. In particular, the massive Canvio Desktop hard drive for PC, which is characterized by a large capacity of internal storage, a full-fledged cooling system and a separate power supply. In addition to it, an external gaming HDD for PS and Xbox consoles was released in the Canvio series.
