SSHD
SSHD
— devices in the form of a hard disk drive (HDD) supplemented by a small solid state drive (SSD). For the advantages and disadvantages of HDD, see the relevant paragraph; here we note that the installation of an additional SSD module allows you to minimize some of these shortcomings. The SSD in this case plays the role of a high-speed cache — it stores the last data that was accessed, or the data requested most often. Thus, the next time this data is accessed, it has to be read not from the hard disk, but from solid-state memory, which significantly increases the read speed. Writing can be done in a similar way — first to the solid-state cache, and then from it to the hard drive, which also speeds up writing. Of course, such a bundle cannot be compared with a full-format SSD in terms of speed, but with a larger volume it will cost much less.clear | Save List |
