Most often, such an enclosure will accommodate the speakers of a traditional 2.0 stereo system, although exceptions are possible. In some situations, such devices are more convenient than a separate speaker for each channel — in particular, most monitor models have this arrangement (see "Intended Use"). On the other hand, soundbars are more bulky and do not allow you to change the relative position of the speakers, adjusting the sound. Therefore, this option is rare nowadays.
