— this feature means that the device has a LAN connector and can be connected to computer networks using a standard Ethernet cable. With this connection, the printer acts as a network device — in other words, it can be accessed from any computer on the network. This is very convenient if printing has to be used by several people from different workplaces. And if the printer is connected directly to the router, it remains operational regardless of which computers on the network are turned on (another option is to connect through one of the computers, in which case the printer becomes inaccessible when the control PC is turned off).An alternative to a wired connection is Wi-Fi (see the relevant paragraph) — this method is more convenient due to the absence of wires, but it is more expensive and is not supported by all computers and not all network equipment (whereas such problems occur much less often with a LAN connection).
