Matte TV screen
— the main advantage of matte screens is that they have virtually no glare from ambient light. On the other hand, in terms of brightness and colour saturation, such a coating is inferior to gloss; and the absence of glare can also be achieved on a glossy coating (see "glossy (anti-glare)"). Thus, matte screens are used relatively rarely nowadays. However, it is worth noting that such a coating is found both in low-cost models and in high-end TVs, where the necessary brightness and contrast are achieved by other means (for example, using quantum dots — see "Screen").
