Handlebar tapes

— a special tape for wrapping the handlebar, usually made of suede or other soft and relatively thick material. The main functions of such a tape are to dampen vibrations and provide a good grip on the handlebar. Note that in most handlebars these functions are performed by grips; tapes are used in road and other specific handlebars, where, due to the design features, it is impossible to install individual grips.
