Demolition hammers with SDS Hex chuck

SDS Hex

— all SDS-marked chucks are quick-clamping — they do not require additional tools such as wrenches or screwdrivers to install and remove nozzles. SDS Hex differs from other types of cartridge used in demolition hammers in two ways: firstly, it is designed for hex shank, not square shank, secondly, cartridges of this standard can have different diameters (unlike SDS + and SDS Max, where the size is fixed). Also note that this type of cartridge was originally created for pike. Thanks to all this, most modern demolition hammers, regardless of weight (see the relevant paragraph), are equipped with SDS Hex.
