SDS Hex differs from other types of cartridge used in demolition hammers in two ways: firstly, it is designed for hex shank, not square shank, secondly, cartridges of this standard can have different diameters (unlike SDS + and SDS Max, where the size is fixed). Also note that this type of cartridge was originally created for pike. Thanks to all this, most modern demolition hammers, regardless of weight (see the relevant paragraph), are equipped with SDS Hex.
