They can have both relatively modest and rather high accuracy — up to the second or third decimal place (more accurate instruments are classified into a separate category — analytical balances, see the corresponding unit). Thereby, the design and requirements for the conditions of use of such models can also be different: for example, this category consists of both models with an open rack, suitable even for mobile laboratories, and devices with a protective cover (see the corresponding unit), requiring a stationary installation and “greenhouse” environment.
