USB PCI controllers

— the presence of at least one USB connector directly on the controller board. We emphasize that in this case we are not talking about connectors (like those that are installed on motherboards), but about full-fledged connectors. Such connectors do not differ in design from conventional external USB, only they are directed not outside, but inside the case. They are well suited for peripherals that need to be kept permanently connected to the system and that can be hidden in the case, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters. The key advantages of internal USB are that devices connected to it do not stick out of the case and do not occupy external ports that can be useful for other peripherals. At the same time, the real need for such a connection does not arise so often: for most situations, external USB connectors are enough, in extreme cases, you can use a splitter (hub). So there are few PCI controllers with internal USB, and even in such models the number of such ports usually does not exceed 1.
Also note that internal USBs can correspond to different versions — 2.0, 3.2 gen1, 3.2 gen2; for details, see the corresponding items in the "Connectors (rear panel)" list — what is written there is also true for internal USB.
