The advantage of this option over batteries is that the battery is initially supplied in the kit, and when the charge is exhausted, it is enough to put it on charge. Thus, the user does not need to spend money on buying batteries. On the other hand, it takes time to charge the battery, while dead batteries can be quickly replaced with fresh ones. However, among the wiring detectors there are models with a combined power supply, in which the battery can be removed and replaced with a set of AA batteries. Note that such combined models may not be equipped with a battery at all — in the expectation that the user, if necessary, buys it separately or removes it from another tool of the same brand (some manufacturers use universal batteries).
