Folding lock

— bicycle locks, in the working position, have the form of a loop of separate metal plates connected by swivel mounts. According to the principle of operation, they are similar to cable and chain. However, due to differences in design, they have their own characteristics. On the one hand, such a product folds very compactly for transportation, and the reliability of a folding lock can be noticeably higher than that of a cable lock. On the other hand, the segmental structure is less flexible and mobile, because the lock works only in one plane, and the connections between the plates loosen as they wear and can noticeably lose strength over time.
