Slip collars
Slip
— another name for such products is "choke collar," which very aptly describes their main feature: the collar can be adjusted to tighten during sudden jerks, compressing the animal's neck. This property is useful for training, but the collar should not be worn this way constantly (and using it on a tether is completely prohibited). However, many jerk models may provide the option to convert into a regular collar, without the ability to tighten. Such versatile products usually appear as a cord with rings at both ends. To use as a choke collar, one of the rings is placed on the opposite end of the cord, creating a self-tightening loop in the shape of the letter "P," and the leash is attached to the "leg" of this letter, where the second ring is located. If tightening is not required, the rings are connected to each other, and the collar's diameter remains unchanged regardless of leash jerks.Show
