Ardent Race 29 Tire

Not one to leave a stone unturned in your favorite rock garden, Maxxis looked upon its family of capable off-road tires and noticed a space between the XC-oriented Ikon and the trail-focused Ardent. Determined to fill the gap between these two beloved tires, they went back to the drawing board before unveiling the Ardent Race Tire—an updated versio... moren of the classic Ardent but with a lighter and faster tread that provides maximum speed and cornering on hard-packed or mixed trail conditions. While the tread pattern is almost the same as the original Ardent, Maxxis removed some of the depth from the knobs while also condensing the entire pattern. Shoulder knobs combined with ramped central knobs create a tire that rolls fast while doing a great job holding its grip in corners. The Maxxis 3C compound features a blend of three rubber densities arranged across the width of the tread, with harder rubber in the base layer for longer tread life, and softer layers on the top and sides for maximum braking and cornering traction.

Maxxis Ardent Race Tires - Black - 29x2.2 TB96742100

The Ardent Race tire from Maxxis is ideally suited for technical XC race courses and endurance-length events. With its medium-height tread, the Ardent Race bridges the gap between the XC-oriented Ikon and the trail-oriented Ardent. The center knobs are ramped to reduce rolling resistance, and the side knobs are angled and stepped to provide great b... moreiting traction in corners. FEATURES: - Dual Compound: Offers low rolling resistance and increased cornering traction - 3C MaxxSpeed Compound: Used primarily in cross country (XC) tires, the two compounds in the outer layer are specially formulated to reduce rolling resistance and optimize treadwear and traction. - EXO Casing: A cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires. This densely woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for enhanced durability for gravel, XC, and light-duty trail riding. - Tubeless Ready (TL): Tubeless ready tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Tubeless ready tires are denoted by the letters “TR” on the sidewall. Tubeless ready tires must be mounted to tubeless compatible rims and require the use of a liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Be sure to check your sealant regularly and refresh as needed as it will dry out over time.
