Different modes of operation
The compact Ubiquiti Unifi Express router (98x98x30 mm) attracts attention not only because of the lack of external antennas. It supports several operating modes, from a regular access point to the role of a gateway that manages up to 4 network devices, segments traffic and filters content, including domains and countries.
Ubiquiti Unifi Express can also operate in Mesh mode, connecting with other similar devices to increase the coverage range. However, even without additions, one router can cover an area of up to 140 m² in open space thanks to a powerful 25 dBm transmitter and built-in antennas with a gain of up to 5.2 dBi.
Wi-Fi 6 Speed
The model supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard, providing speeds of up to 2400 Mbps at 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz range. An extended 160 MHz frequency band is used to increase performance. Wired data transfer reaches speeds of 1 Gbps, with one gigabit LAN and WAN port.
Equipment bonuses
The router is equipped with a Bluetooth module, which can be used as a control interface, as well as to connect smart sensors and other IoT devices to the Internet. Additionally, the model is equipped with an informative 0.96-inch display and a USB-C port. The screen shows the number of connected clients, the input and output speed in real time, and the USB-C port is used for power, which allows you to connect the router to a power bank.
