Cool Upgrades
The Ubiquiti brand router is an enhanced version of the UniFi Express. The 2025 model has become slightly larger externally, yet remains compact and doesn't require external antennas. The key changes are focused inside: the device is equipped with a Wi-Fi 7 module and supports simultaneous operation in three bands. Combined with an extended bandwidth of up to 320 MHz, this provides very high theoretical speeds — up to 5700 Mbps in the 6 GHz band and up to 4300 Mbps in the 5 GHz band. Altogether, it reaches up to 10700 Mbps, which corresponds to the top-tier BE11000 class.
In addition, the Ubiquiti UniFi Express 7, compared to its predecessor, features a 10-gigabit WAN port and a 2.5 Gbps LAN socket, as well as a more powerful transmitter — 26 dBm compared to 25 dBm previously. As a result, the coverage area has also increased: up to 160 square meters in open space instead of 140.
Various Modes and Other Features
The device supports several operating modes, including router, access point, and gateway. In the latter case, the model can manage up to 30 other network devices, filtering traffic, domains, countries, and other parameters for them. For user convenience, there is a 0.96-inch informational display, and power is supplied through a USB-C port. This solution also adds portability, allowing the router to connect directly to a power bank without adapters.
The hardware deserves special mention: a quad-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, and a built-in Bluetooth module. The latter can be used both for pairing with a smartphone and remote management, as well as for connecting various wireless sensors.
The Ubiquiti UniFi Express 7 is not cheap, but it rightly belongs to top-notch network solutions with Wi-Fi 7 support.
