Thanks to its four coolers, the Trust Cooling Stand GXT 278 is capable of cooling down even the hottest gaming laptops and ultrabooks from previous generations, which notoriously overheated due to not very energy-efficient processors. For summer work, this is a must-have. Equally important, during the cooling process, the fan blades rotate with minimal noise, so acoustic discomfort when watching movies or during a Battlefield shootout is minimal. Usually, the laptop itself makes more noise. There's a bonus in the form of a soft red backlight.

Lighting, Height Adjustment Feet, and USB Hub

On the front side, at the top of the stand, there's a large mesh made of rough plastic, which provides the laptop with stability and prevents slipping. At the bottom are foldable feet that allow the laptop to be tilted for more comfortable typing or playing PUBG. The stand's feet have three levels of tilt. A small pocket for storing the USB cable is hidden on the inside, and an additional USB port can be found on the back panel.

Quiet and Efficient

The downside is perhaps the strange speed controller, which does not perform its function but simply starts or stops the fans while keeping the stand itself on. This was likely a defect in the test sample. However, in theory, it sounds convenient, as the rotation speed can be adjusted separately for each half of the stand. This is especially useful if only one half of the laptop's body or a specific part is overheating.
