The reMarkable brand e-reader is a premium solution with a large 11.8-inch color display and a matte surface that mimics regular paper. Essentially, it's an electronic notebook with extensive capabilities for note-taking and working with passive styluses (pens without batteries). The package includes the branded reMarkable Marker accessory, which recognizes 4096 pressure levels.

It also features handwriting-to-text conversion, flexible integration with Microsoft Office products for working with presentations, contracts, etc. Plus, it offers the ability to use cloud storage such as OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive. The reMarkable Paper Pro e-reader features an eye-safe E Ink Gallery 3 display with a resolution of 2160 x 1620 pixels and adjustable backlighting.

The hardware includes a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage, alongside a Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) module and a universal USB-C port for data exchange. Additionally, it boasts a 5.1 mm thick aluminum body and a 5300 mAh battery. The reader operates on the proprietary reMarkable OS, with a fairly closed ecosystem and additional features available through a paid subscription, and it has limited support for text formats — primarily PDF, EPUB, making it primarily a solution for note-taking, drawing, creating diagrams, making various edits, and secondarily, a reading device.
