Perfect LSS without weaknesses
In cooperation with the magicians from the Danish company Asetek, the guys from NZXT managed to make an almost perfect LSS without weak points. The shape of the Kraken X53 is a classic dropsy, which consists of a two-section radiator and pump. The aluminium radiator consists of 13 channels for the circulation of the refrigerant, between which a corrugated tape is laid. A pair of 120 mm NZXT Aer P120 turntables with rotation speeds from 500 to 2000 rpm and PWM control are responsible for blowing the radiator. The mounting points of the coolers have rubber inserts that reduce the noise level and dampen parasitic vibrations that occur at high speeds.
Made by masters from Asetek
The dimensions of the Kraken X53 water block (made by the guys from Asetek) are 80x80x55 mm. The height is slightly higher than the average temperature in the ward, but the water block can be turned in the right direction so that it does not rest against the DDR4 strips with high radiators. The connecting hoses can also be rotated, making installation easier. By the way, they turned out to be long (40 cm versus the standard 30 – 33 cm) and durable with additional protection in the form of a fabric braid. For fastening to the body of the NZXT Kraken X53, Asetek mounts are used, which have proven themselves well in other A-class dropsies.
shining rings
However, the main star of the evening here is not so much the cooling system itself, but the unusual RGB backlight. The body of the water block is pierced by several RGB rings that reflect off the mirrored cover of the lid, creating an infinity effect. This is certainly not a separate LCD screen for the pump in the Kraken Z73, on which you could display gifs, but still such a multi-coloured ring looks very cool. Without any exaggeration, this is the case when the resulting hull illumination is worth every dollar spent.
Efficiency and noise level at the level of tower supercoolers
The same can be said about the cooling system itself: it is quiet, powerful and reliable, it is easy to install, after which it can easily cool high-performance gaming processors with heat dissipation at the level of 150-200 W. Yes, the price that is asked for the Kraken X53 is quite biting, but in this case it is more than justified by the overall high quality of workmanship, cooperation with Asetek, a six-year warranty and cool lighting. This is one of the few dual-section liquid cooling systems that, in terms of noise and efficiency, is not far behind (or even bypasses) most supercooler towers. We can talk about some noticeable noise here only at a load above 80%.
