The JBL portable speaker primarily attracts attention with its retro design, inspired by the classic JBL heritage speakers. The manufacturer has carefully worked on the details: the frame is made of premium aluminium, the body is covered with leather material. There is a handle for easy carrying, but keep in mind that the device weighs a lot - almost 5 kg. In addition to its design, the speaker stands out for its high-quality stereo sound and large volume reserve.

A pair of 1-inch tweeters reproduce every detail of your music, while a full-range woofer and passive radiator deliver deep bass. The total system power is 100 W. The JBL Authentics 300 doesn't even require any settings: every time you turn on the speaker, it automatically calibrates the sound depending on the room. Although there are, of course, manual settings and an equalizer.

There are many options for connectivity: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, AirPlay, Chromecast, LAN and 3.5 mm audio jack. You can turn on streaming services, Internet radio, broadcast music, audiobooks and podcasts from your smartphone or tablet, and also share playlists via Bluetooth. The model supports the Multi-Room Playback function, which allows you to combine several speakers into one audio system.

There are also several methods for control: regular buttons on the device body, advanced settings in the proprietary application, and voice control using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Virtual assistants can tell you the news, check the weather, adjust the volume, and remotely control other smart home equipment. Another advantage of the speaker is its autonomous operation. Inside there is a 4800 mAh battery, one charge of which lasts up to 8 hours (it all depends on the volume level and audio content). In addition, the battery is capable of charging other gadgets connected to the USB port. Thus, the audio system can also act as a power bank.
